Our Industrial Relations and Employment Law Team has over 30 years advocacy and employment law experience with a proven track record in achieving results. Working predominantly in the health, aged care and community sectors we have in depth knowledge and experience with the issues that affect your industry. This experience is further enhanced by long standing professional relationships with unions, government and stakeholders.

Specifically our Team focuses on Employment Law, agreement drafting & negotiation, representation in Unfair Dismissals, Industrial Relations advice, Award/Agreement interpretation, Discrimination Law, Dispute resolution & mediation.


Ariane McGing

Principal

After completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology Sydney, Ariane has worked as a solicitor since 2012. Commencing her legal career at a boutique CBD law firm, she has worked in a range of practice areas, including property, banking, and consumer law, but primarily in commercial and employment law since 2014.

At LSC Ariane works with clients in workplace matters with commercial and client focused approach assisting with advice, drafting and advocacy.

She regularly negotiates, drafts and advises on employment related documents such as contracts of employment, service agreements and workplace policies.

She advises on termination of employment, compliance with workplace laws and industrial instruments, performance management and workplace disputes and protection of confidential information and intellectual property.

Ariane has worked with clients in a range of industries including banking, aged care, disability, transport, community, professional services, retail and manufacturing.

She also offers training programs in employment fundamentals for HR professionals, compliance training in areas including anti-discrimination laws and bullying and harassment.


Belinda Russell

Principal

Belinda completed a Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree at the University of Technology Sydney in 2003 and has worked at both mid tier and top tier Sydney-based law firms advising on employment and industrial relations matters. 

In 2006/07, as recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship, Belinda completed her Master of Law (LLM) degree at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and then proceeded to work at Accenture, UK in its Strategy & Consulting division.   

Belinda has worked as a senior adviser to a Minister in the New South Wales government, providing policy advice, fulfilling Parliamentary duties, and liaising with the back bench, cross bench and media stakeholders. Through this experience, Belinda has a strong understanding of the law-making process, from the creation of policy, through the various stages in the Parliamentary process, to its ascent as law. 

Belinda assists clients with employment-related documents such as workplace policies and procedures, contracts of employment, contractor agreements and others. Belinda can advise on the Fair Work Act, Work Health and Safety laws, and other Federal and State legislation and regulations, and industrial instruments and she has a strong interest in risk and compliance.

Belinda has represented clients in unfair dismissal and general protections conciliations before the Fair Work Commission and has sensitively handled several underpayment of wages matters with the Fair Work Ombudsman.


Leana Street

Founder / Patron

Leana initially trained as a registered nurse and subsequently worked in hospitals as a registered nurse for 23 years prior to completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in industrial relations and political science at the University of NSW.

Subsequently she worked as an industrial officer with the National Association of Nursing Homes and Private Hospitals and the Private Hospitals Association of NSW before taking on the role of National Human Resource Manager for Health Care of Australia. 

 Leana established Leana Street Consulting as a one stop employment shop in 1994 offering everything from executive recruitment to advice on termination and all that occurs in the employment process including advice on award and enterprise agreement interpretation and negotiation and advice to employers on how best to manage performance and conduct issues with employees.
